Suluk tribe can mainly be found in Sandakan, Tawau, Lahad Datu, Kota Kinabalu, Kunat, Kudat and Semporna (north-eastern part of Sabah), KL and Johor.Suluk has their unique culture and arts. Dance like for example daling daling dance is well-known amongst the Suluk community. Suluk people have their traditional attires and costumes. Besides, we are aware that there are the importance of preserving the culture as culture is the sum of total of the learned behavior of a group of people that are generally considered to be the tradition of that people and are transmitted from generation to generation.
Reflection on the subject ( Introduction to Malaysian Arts & Cultures)
Diversity of races, religions and cultures is a significant characteristic of our nation. Malaysia is a multiracial country with a rich cultural heritage. We were introduced to Malaysian Arts and Cultures and we have learnt the various arts and cultures in Malaysia. It is vital for the younger generation like us and the future generation to have the exposure to our country's myriad cultures and arts. In addition to that, cultures are like underground rivers that run through our lives and relationships, giving us messages that shape our perceptions, attributions, judgments, and ideas of self and other. Though cultures are powerful, they are often unconscious, influencing conflict and attempts to resolve conflict in imperceptible ways. We have also watched and enjoyed the performances by different groups. We had different groups that performed dance, sketches, singing, and etc. according to their respective groups' names' cultures. Groups' names were named after the different tribes in Sarawak and Sabah. On top of that, we've learnt the Chinese, Malays and Indians' 'pantang larang' and cultures.

Importance of Preserving Culture
Culture can give people a connection to certain social values, beliefs, religions and customs. It allows them to identify with others of similar mindsets and backgrounds. Cultural heritage can provide an automatic sense of unity and belonging within a group and allows us to better understand previous generations and the history of where we come from.

In large cities especially, it can be easy to feel lost and alone among so many other cultures and backgrounds. New York City, for example, is a huge melting pot of people from all over the country and the world. There are large communities based around certain cultural heritages, including Irish, Italian, Asian, and others.
One is the sense of national identity driving a group of people further than any individual group could be driven without these influences (think synergy). There's pride (which again, can be good or bad depending on how it's used) that can drive success in ways that individual identity can't. Also, life would just be so boring without such things.

These different elements are what promote and drive diversity, which in turn promote all sorts of innovation. If everyone ate the same type of foods, didn't celebrate holidays, wore the same type of clothes, lived in the same kind of cities all across the world, the world would be a pretty boring place.

DALING-DALING DANCE
This dance is famous among the Suluk community from the east coast of Sabah, Semporna. The Suluk or Sea Bajau is seafaring people in this part of the world’s most beautiful beaches and the renowned Sipadan Island.
It is a Suluk love story between the Prince and Princess of Bohey Dulang. A beautiful and lively courting dance called ’Daling-Daling (derived from the English word Darling). The Prince seems to do the ‘Silat (Malay martial art) to woo his sweetheart! This dance is usually performed during festivals, wedding ceremonies and also used to welcome guests.
The Princess wears full custom accessories from head to toe; the Crown called ‘Mahkota’, long finger nails called ‘Janggal’ and a Sash or Shawal known as ‘Sablai’. Whereas the Prince wear a distinct tall headdress called ‘Tengolok’
Suluk tribe also known as Tausūgs are experienced sailors and are known for their colourful boats or vintas. They are superb warriors and craftsmen.

Pis Siyabit (or simply Pis) is a Tausug woven head-cloth made from cotton or silk (or with gold threads) characterized with intricate geometric patterns of colors segmented into the smallest squares, triangles and diamonds. It is a multi-purpose head-wear that may be worn on the shoulder, tied around the hilt of the kris (sword) or wrapped around the head used by Tausug men usually as a sign of rank.

Introduction
Suluk tribe can mainly be found in Sandakan, Tawau, Lahad Datu, Kota Kinabalu, Kunat, Kudat and Semporna (north-eastern part of Sabah), KL and Johor. Population of Suluk in our country is 209000 people.History
Suluk tribe in Malaysia had been here since the rule of Sultanate of Sultan in parts of Sabah. Some of them are decendents of Sulu Princess (Princess Dayang Dayang), who ran away from the Sulu Sultan who tried to marry her.
Culture
They are known for the Pangalay dance (also known as Daling-Daling in Sabah), in which female dancers wear artificial elongated fingernails made from brass or silver known as janggay, and perform motions based on the Vidhyadhari (Bahasa Sūg: Bidadali) of pre-Islamic Buddhist legend.
